Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home

Bristol Area | 5-Bedded EBD Home

Salary: £37,878 per annum + £65 per sleep-in (approx. £42,638 p/a)

Working Pattern: 2 days on (7:30am–10:30pm), 4 days off

Includes 2 sleep-ins per week (based on monthly rota)

We are seeking a Deputy Manager for our 5-bedded EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home located in the Bristol area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young people, whether you are already a deputy Manager looking for a change or already in a senior position looking to step up.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations and management of the home.

Provide leadership, supervision, and support to the staff team.

Ensure the home consistently meets OFSTED regulations and quality standards.

Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for young people to thrive.

Assist in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.

Oversee safeguarding practices and ensure robust reporting systems are in place.

Lead shifts and manage staff rotas effectively.

Contribute to staff development through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.

Build strong relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.

Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with policies and procedures.

Promote independence and life skills development among the young residents.

About You:

NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – essential.

Preferably 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting.

Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and OFSTED standards.

Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.

A positive, resilient, and compassionate attitude.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A full UK driving licence – essential due to the home’s location.
