Support Worker – Retirement Estate

Glasgow | 28 hours per week |  £12.60 per hour

Care First, in partnership with a reputable charity trust, is seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join a supportive team within a welcoming retirement estate. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and support to elderly individuals living independently in their own cottages and flats.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you’ll be providing day-to-day assistance to elderly residents, helping them maintain their independence while enjoying a safe and comfortable environment. This is a rewarding role where you will build genuine relationships and make a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer practical and emotional support tailored to each resident’s individual needs
  • Assist with personal care, mobility support, and household tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation
  • Support residents to access community services, attend appointments, and take part in estate social activities
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice in a respectful and person-centred manner
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with medication where required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality, consistent care

About You:

  • Previous experience in care or support work (especially with older adults) is desirable
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • Naturally caring, respectful, and patient in your approach
  • Good communication skills and able to work effectively in a team
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of dignity, safety, and care
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including some evenings and weekends
