Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum + Sleep-in payments
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Shifts: Includes evenings/weekends/sleep-ins
Qualification: Minimum Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
Experience: Essential – must have experience in similar residential settings

We are recruiting a passionate, experienced Deputy Manager for a new specialist provision supporting children and young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and complex care needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing provider from day one, bringing your experience and leadership to build a truly child-centred, high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and take full responsibility in their absence
- Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance
- Contribute to and help implement individual care plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk assessments
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in your care through a nurturing, therapeutic approach
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted regulations and assist with inspections and audits
- Take part in recruitment, training, and ongoing staff development
- Support with rota planning, medication management, incident reporting and ensuring all documentation is accurate and current
- Promote a culture of safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, and independence for each young person
- Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies as required
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)
- Previous experience working in a residential children's home with Autism/Learning Disabilities/Complex Needs
- Leadership or senior experience in a similar setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour support, and children’s legislation
- Passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives
