Room Leader – Full Time

Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Up to £14.50 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery in Chelmsford for an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join their welcoming and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional who is ready to lead a room, inspire colleagues, and provide outstanding care and education for young children in a nurturing environment.

Working Pattern

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or above) is essential
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting
  • Experience leading or supervising a nursery room is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional childcare

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily running of your designated nursery room, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.
  • Support, motivate, and supervise team members, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Monitor children's progress through observations and assessments, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's development.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
  • Support the development of junior team members through coaching and guidance.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
