Care Assistant – Residential Care Home Location: Torquay area, Devon Salary: £13.50 per hour Hours: 36 hours per week Shifts: Days & Nights We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established medium-sized residential care home in the Torquay area, supporting up to 41 working-age adults with a range of individual and complex care needs. We currently have three Care Assistant vacancies available across both day and night shifts. About the Role As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to residents, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. The home supports working-age adults with a range of needs, including: Physical disabilities Neurological conditions Learning disabilities Mental health needs Complex care requirements You will be expected to take the time to understand each resident as an individual and provide compassionate, respectful and consistent support. Hours & Pay 36 hours per week Day shifts: 8:00am – 8:00pm Night shifts: 8:00pm – 8:00am £13.50 per hour All breaks are paid Bank Holidays: Time & ¼ Boxing Day & New Year's Day: Time & ½ Christmas Day: Double time Benefits Cooked lunch provided Ongoing training and development Company pension scheme Supportive team environment Opportunity to develop your career within adult social care About You Relevant care qualifications are preferred but are not essential. You will ideally have: A compassionate and person-centred approach Good communication skills The ability to work well as part of a team Reliability and a strong work ethic Patience and understanding Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs would be beneficial The home has a strong staffing structure, with typically six to seven Care Assistants working during the day and four at night, providing residents with consistent support from a dedicated team.
