Location: Chester area
Salary: From £26,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
On-Call: 1 evening per week + 1 weekend per month
Mileage: 45p per mile

About the Role

We are delighted to be supporting a reputable and well-established home care provider in the Chester area with the recruitment of an experienced Care Supervisor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and well-organised home care environment.

The role offers a great balance between office-based responsibilities, staff support and supervision, and working out in the community, giving you the opportunity to remain close to the people receiving care while also taking on greater responsibility.

You will be responsible for supporting a team of approximately 16 care staff, helping to ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained and that staff are well supported in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 16 care staff.
  • Conduct regular staff supervisions, spot checks and competency assessments.
  • Carry out care visits and monitor the quality of care being delivered in the community.
  • Support the management team with the implementation and monitoring of CQC policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure care plans and risk assessments are accurate, up to date and reflective of service users' needs.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide guidance, coaching and support where required.
  • Assist with staff induction, training and ongoing development.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in service users' needs and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all care documentation is completed to a high standard.
  • Work closely with service users, families, care staff and other professionals to ensure a person-centred approach.
  • Assist with the coordination of care packages and contribute to effective service delivery.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing support and guidance outside normal working hours.

Working Pattern

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

There may be occasional weekend working required, primarily to provide holiday cover. Where you work a weekend, you will receive a day off during the week in return.

The on-call rota is planned well in advance, with the successful candidate expected to cover approximately one evening per week and one weekend per month.

On-call payments are £15 per weekday evening and £60 per weekend, in addition to your salary. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and has the confidence to support and guide a team.

Previous experience in a Care Supervisor or similar senior role within domiciliary/home care would be highly desirable. However, if you have a strong background in domiciliary care and feel ready to take the next step into a supervisory position, we would also be very interested in hearing from you.

You will ideally have:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care as a minimum
  • Previous experience within domiciliary/home care
  • A good understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements and good care practice
  • Experience supporting or supervising care staff, or the desire to progress into a supervisory role
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A professional, reliable and compassionate approach
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous for the community-based element of the role

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary from £26,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Structured and well-planned on-call rota
  • £15 per weekday evening on-call payment
  • £60 per weekend on-call payment
  • 45p per mile mileage allowance
  • Time off in lieu when weekend cover is required
  • Opportunity to develop your career within a reputable home care provider
  • A varied role combining office-based work, staff support and community visits
  • Supportive working environment

If you are an experienced Care Supervisor looking for your next opportunity — or an experienced domiciliary care professional ready to take the next step — we would love to hear from you.
